Job summary

Goodwill Industries of the Valleys is seeking a part-time team member at our Harrisonburg, VA store to sort hardline goods, price merchandise, and maintain stock and displays. You’ll help ensure quality standards and manage inventory while providing friendly service in a fast-paced retail environment.

The role involves pricing, markdowns, and maintaining clean, organized shelves, with opportunities for growth through internal development programs and benefits for part-time staff.

Summary

Responsible for sorting of hardline goods into salable or salvage categories. Selection of salable goods must meet quality standards while maintaining quantity of hard lines inventory. Responsible for pricing of merchandise, stocking shelves, mark-downs, rotating and displaying merchandise.

Minimum Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, and communicate verbally.
• Ability to perform basic math skills.
• Must be able to work independently.
• Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with managers, team members, customers, and donors.
• Ability to work within a team situation.
• Ability to maintain a positive, friendly attitude and a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance.
• Ability to perform the essential functions with or without accommodation.

Special Requirements

• Having a cell phone is not required for employment, but access to applications and/or resources may be limited unless a cell phone is used for authentication.

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods of standing and walking throughout the retail space.
• Able to stand, bend and reach.
• Able to lift, push, pull, carry, or otherwise move up to forty (40) pounds with no support regularly. Over forty (40) pounds request for additional team member assistance as needed.
• Able to perform tasks that require repetitive motion. Manual dexterity is required.
