Job summary

Coastal Building Maintenance in Miami, FL is seeking a reliable Handyman to perform general repairs, maintenance, and installations at client facilities. You will identify issues, use tools safely, and complete work orders promptly.

Experience in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, drywall, and basic repairs is preferred. You will work with hand and power tools, follow safety procedures, and maintain a clean, organized workspace.

Qualifications

• Previous handyman or building maintenance experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting and drywall.
• Ability to safely use hand and power tools.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and work orders.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, reach and perform physical tasks throughout the shift.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Perform general repairs and routine building maintenance.
• Complete minor plumbing repairs, including faucets, toilets, drains, and minor leaks.
• Perform minor electrical work, such as replacing light bulbs, fixtures, switches, or outlets when authorized and permitted.
• Repair and adjust doors, locks, hinges, handles, cabinets, and other building hardware.
• Perform basic drywall repairs, patching, caulking, painting, and touch-ups.
• Assemble, install, move, and repair furniture, shelving, and equipment.
• Hang pictures, signs, fixtures, and other items as requested.
• Perform basic carpentry and minor repair work.
• Inspect facilities and identify maintenance or safety concerns.
• Complete assigned work orders accurately and promptly.
• Perform preventive maintenance tasks as scheduled.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas clean and safe conditions hand tools, power tools, and ladders safely.
• Follow all company safety procedures and use required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Report repairs requiring licensed or specialized contractors to the supervisor.
• Perform other maintenance and facility-related duties as assigned.

Position Summary

The Handyman is responsible for performing a variety of general repairs, maintenance, installations, and minor improvement projects at assigned facilities. This position requires practical knowledge of multiple maintenance areas and the ability to identify and resolve routine building maintenance issues safely and efficiently.

• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and work orders.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Must be dependable, punctual, organized, and professional.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, reach, and perform physical tasks throughout the shift.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to safely use ladders when required.
• Must follow all CBM safety policies, procedures, and client/site requirements.
• Any work requiring a professional license must only be performed by appropriately licensed or authorized personnel.
