Job summary

CBM Florida is seeking a versatile Handyman to perform a variety of repairs, maintenance, installations, and minor improvement projects at assigned facilities. You will rely on practical knowledge across plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, drywall, and general repairs to keep buildings safe and functioning.

The role requires the ability to read work orders, follow safety procedures, use hand and power tools, lift up to 50 pounds, and work independently with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• Experience in handyman/building maintenance or general repairs preferred.
• Knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, drywall and general repairs.
• Ability to safely use hand and power tools.
• Ability to troubleshoot and complete basic maintenance repairs.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and work orders.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Dependable, punctual, organized, and professional.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, reach, and perform physical tasks.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to safely use ladders when required.
• Must follow CBM safety policies, procedures, and client/site requirements.
• Any work requiring a professional license must only be performed by appropriately licensed or authorized personnel.

Responsibilities

• Perform general repairs and routine building maintenance.
• Complete minor plumbing repairs, including faucets, toilets, drains, and minor leaks.
• Perform minor electrical work, such as replacing light bulbs, fixtures, switches, or outlets when authorized and permitted.
• Repair and adjust doors, locks, hinges, handles, cabinets, and other building hardware.
• Perform basic drywall repairs, patching, caulking, painting, and touch-ups.
• Assemble, install, move, and repair furniture, shelving, and equipment.
• Hang pictures, signs, fixtures, and other items as requested.
• Perform basic carpentry and minor repair work.
• Inspect facilities and identify maintenance or safety concerns.
• Complete assigned work orders accurately and promptly.
• Perform preventive maintenance tasks as scheduled.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas clean and safe conditions hand tools, power tools, and ladders safely.
• Follow all company safety procedures and use required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Report repairs requiring licensed or specialized contractors to the supervisor.
• Perform other maintenance and facility-related duties as assigned.
