Job summary

Handy Distribution in Garner, NC seeks an experienced warehouse supervisor to lead material handlers, drivers and warehouse staff. You will ensure safety, accuracy in shipping/receiving and efficient inventory control while performing hands-on tasks as needed.

You will plan schedules, monitor performance, oversee forklift operations and coordinate with the Branch Manager on staffing and process improvements. OSHA compliance and strong data skills are required.

Qualifications

• Some college preferred and 2-3 years warehouse management experience.
• Forklift certification preferred and OSHA safety awareness.
• Experience with coordinating shipping/receiving and inventory control.

Responsibilities

• Plan pickup and delivery schedules for truck drivers.
• Assist Branch Manager in recruiting, hiring, promoting, training, and evaluating staff.
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with sales and purchasing support.
• Answer inquiries on services, schedules, and service areas served.
• Oversee outbound freight shipments for accuracy and safe loading.
• Oversee inbound freight receiving and proper product placement; generate ASNs.
• Handle receiving, verifying and restocking of materials.
• Pick, palletize, stage orders and load/unload trucks with forklifts.
• Utilize WMS RF scanning for data capture and updates.
• Prepare UPS and LTL shipments in World Ship and Cerasis.
• Make inventory adjustments to reflect accuracy.
• Monitor hours worked and PTO for operations staff.
• Maintain clean, safe work environment and budget adherence.
• Coordinate inter-company transfers and staffing schedules.
