Job summary

Micron Solutions is seeking a hands-on Tooling Engineering Manager to lead our Tool Room and Mold Making operations in Fitchburg, MA. This is not a desk-only role; you’ll work side-by-side with mold makers to solve complex tooling challenges and support new mold builds.

The ideal candidate has deep expertise in injection mold construction, repair, troubleshooting, and maintenance, plus strong leadership to build a high‑performing team.

Qualifications

• 10+ years hands-on mold making or tool room experience.
• Experience leading mold making teams.
• Strong knowledge of mold construction and maintenance.
• Advanced blueprint reading and GD&T.
• Experience with CNC, EDM, milling, grinding, turning.

Responsibilities

• Lead by example with Mold Makers and Tool Room staff on mold construction, repair, and maintenance.
• Mentor and train mold makers and apprentices; develop talent within the team.
• Drive tooling strategy, preventive maintenance, and reliability improvements.
• Oversee tool room operations, scheduling, and documentation.
• Support new product introductions and mold validation activities.
