Job summary

Reliance One, Inc. is seeking a Test Technician to support automotive durability and safety testing. This hands-on role involves preparing test articles, fixtures, and vehicles, interpreting specifications, collecting data, and ensuring tests follow established procedures.

The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, skilled with hand and power tools, and able to troubleshoot in a fast-paced engineering environment. Weekend rotation and lifting requirements apply.

Qualifications

• High attention to detail is required.
• Ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs unassisted.
• Excellent critical thinking and independent problem-solving.
• Experience using basic hand and power tools.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• General computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
• Ability to work a rotating schedule that includes approximately 50% weekends.
• Safely perform physical requirements of preparing test fixtures, components, and vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Set up and perform durability and/or safety tests.
• Interpret testing requirements and specifications.
• Prepare test articles, fixtures, and vehicles.
• Evaluate performance using measurements and sensors.
• Document test procedures and results.
• Communicate with supervisors and customers.
• Prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
• Operate and maintain test equipment.
• Troubleshoot testing or equipment issues.
• Collaborate with other facilities to maintain consistent practices.
• Support continuous improvement in testing operations.
• Perform physically demanding testing activities, including kneeling and lifting.
