Job summary

ActiveCampaign seeks a Manager, Technical Engineering in Heredia to lead a specialized team within T2 Specialty. You will combine hands-on coding with people leadership, debugging alongside core engineers, prototyping AI tooling, and owning team performance.

You will mentor technical reps and specialists, guide architecture decisions, and drive operational health with metrics like TRT/FRT while partnering with Product and AI teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on software engineering or related roles.
• 1–2+ years proven people management or team leadership.
• Ability to read and debug code alongside core Engineering teams.
• Strong fluency with APIs, webhooks, logs, and data pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with ticketing and reporting tools such as Zendesk and Jira.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on engineering leadership by debugging code, API, and architecture level issues, writing scripts, and leading major releases.
• Lead and mentor a growing team of technical reps and specialists with 1:1s and development plans.
• Drive queue and operational health using Zendesk, Telescope, and Jira to balance workload and track trends.
• Own team performance and resolution quality, tracking metrics down to the code level.
• Manage critical escalations by resolving key issues and serving as technical point of contact.
• Partner cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, and AI teams on planning and defects.
• Deliver actionable reporting with Looker and SQL dashboards for productivity visibility.
• Drive AI optimization, pilot tooling, and evaluation of LLM/API tooling for feasibility and cost.
