Job summary

Sonic in the Bay Area, CA seeks a Systems Engineering Manager to lead a small team of systems engineers and systems administrators. You will remain an active technical contributor, participating in architecture, tooling, operations, and project execution while aligning with the Director of Engineering and Architecture.

You will own reliability, security, and performance of production systems across a large Linux fleet, drive fleet lifecycle, monitoring, and incident response, and collaborate

Qualifications

• 7+ years of hands-on experience in systems engineering, systems administration, or infrastructure engineering roles in a Linux-primary environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of systems engineers and systems administrators across multiple disciplines.
• Execute goals and priorities set by leadership and translate direction into team execution.
• Plan, prioritize, and drive projects from scoping through delivery while managing risk.
• Collaborate with peer engineering managers to align on infrastructure priorities.
• Maintain active technical contribution in architecture, tooling, and operational response.
