Job summary

The Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science in Miami, FL seeks a dedicated UBMS Academic-Year Mentor to support hands-on math and science activities for underserved high school students. This temporary part-time role supports the Saturday Academy and includes a training week and ongoing Saturday commitments through May 2027.

Responsibilities include facilitating curricula, coordinating with staff, mentoring students, guiding project presentations, and ensuring safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM or nearing completion (Junior/Senior).
• At least 2 years of teaching experience in formal or informal settings.
• At least 2 years of mentoring/coaching with underserved youth preferred.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate a science and/or math course with hands-on activities.
• Coordinate needs with program staff in a timely manner.
• Act as mentor/role model to underserved high school students.
• Help students produce and present science projects.
• Ensure student safety during activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
