Job summary

Wabtec Corporation is seeking a Shift Leader to oversee a manufacturing shift, ensuring safety, quality, and on-time output. You will guide associates, manage daily tasks, and escalate issues to the Shift Supervisor when needed.

The role requires hands-on leadership, attention to process adherence, and effective communication with team members to meet production goals and maintain a safe work environment.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school or six months to one year related experience.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, including fractions and decimals.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety in work areas and that associates work safely.
• Update and understand Gemba Boards.
• Report scraps and ensure timely requisition of supplies and parts.
• Ensure final assemblies are inspected prior to packaging and documented as required.
• Assign team members to specific areas within the cell for productivity.
• Follow manufacturing/quality procedures and complete production reports daily.
• Coordinate and support 5S practices and communicate issues to supervisors.
• Attend meetings and stay aligned with production schedule and dispatch reports.
