Job summary

Five Guys in Carlsbad is seeking a Shift Leader to run daily operations, lead by example, and ensure an outstanding guest experience. You will work side-by-side with the team, stepping into every role from cashier to grill to dining room as needed.

Ideal candidates bring 1–2 years in a similar setting, a team-first attitude, and calm decision-making under pressure. On-site role with room to grow within a fast-paced Five Guys environment.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of restaurant, retail, or hospitality experience (leadership preferred).
• Team-first mindset with strong communication skills.
• Leads by doing—not just directing.
• Ability to stay calm and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic math and comfort using POS systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead the shift and step in to run operations when management isn’t on site.
• Jump into every position—cashier, grill, prep, fries, dining room—no task is too small.
• Deliver fast, accurate service and create a great guest experience every time.
• Coach, support, and motivate crew members to perform at their best.
• Help train new team members and build a strong, positive culture.
• Keep the restaurant clean, safe, and up to brand standards.
• Manage shift tasks like breaks, cash handling, and closing reports.
