Job summary

The City of Lakewood, Ohio is seeking a skilled sewer maintenance worker to perform below-ground maintenance and repair of the Lakewood sewer system. The job involves physical labor, use of power tools, and working in confined spaces.

Candidates must hold a valid Class B CDL with fewer than eight points, obtain a Class I Waste Water Collection License within 3 years, and be ready to pass a physical exam, drug test, and background check. Normal hours are 7:30am–3:30pm.

Qualifications

• Must work independently with little supervision.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid Class B Ohio CDL with <8 points.
• Class I Waste Water Collection License within 3 years.
• TankER endorsement within 90 days of appointment.
• Physical examination, drug testing and background check may be required.

Responsibilities

• Perform below-ground sewer maintenance and repair work.
• Work in confined spaces and in extreme temperatures.
• Operate power tools and manual equipment safely.
• Lift up to 50 lbs and climb ladders as needed.
• Construct and repair manholes and catch basins when required.
