Job summary

Hawai'i Association Of Independent Schools is seeking a facilities assistant to support the Facilities Director in repairing and maintaining the school building, fixtures, and grounds. The role covers electrical and plumbing tasks, building repairs, and operation of various power tools.

Ideal candidates have experience in construction/maintenance settings and can perform carpentry, drywall, and painting tasks, with preferred knowledge of AC equipment maintenance.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction/maintenance environments preferred.
• Ability to operate basic electrical and plumbing systems.
• Experience with carpentry, drywall and painting tasks preferred.
• Knowledge of AC equipment maintenance is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist Facilities Director with repair and maintenance of the school building, fixtures, and grounds.
• Perform basic electrical repairs and maintain plumbing.
• Conduct building and facilities repairs as needed.
• Operate and maintain power tools and equipment such as saws, grinders, and nail guns.
• Able to solder copper for plumbing and weld metalwork if required.
• Assist with groundskeeping and custodial tasks as assigned.
