Job summary

Hawai'i Association Of Independent Schools is seeking a custodian to support the Physical Plant Director in maintaining school buildings, fixtures, and grounds. The role involves routine cleaning, floor care, window washing, and setup for events.

Applicants should have a High School diploma, basic custodial training, and ability to read, write, and speak English. Prior maintenance experience is preferred to handle a variety of facilities tasks.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write and verbally communicate in English.
• Must understand and obey all posted safety regulations, shop rules, and warnings.
• Completion of High School, custodial training a plus.
• Experience in construction/maintenance environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Sweeps, mops, and polishes floors.
• Dusts and polishes furniture, woodwork, fixtures, and equipment.
• Washes windows and walls.
• Vacuums and spot cleans carpets.
• Empties and cleans waste receptacles.
• Cleans and maintains supplies in restrooms.
• Sets up tables and chairs for special meetings or events.
• Maintains custodial supplies and equipment.
• Notifies management concerning need for repair to buildings and other facilities.
