Job summary

Bureau Veritas in Elko, NV is seeking a Sample Preparation Technician to perform on-floor sample prep and occasional driving. The role involves lifting up to 50 lbs, operating a forklift and pallet jack, and traveling for client sample pickups.

The position reports to the Branch Manager and requires adherence to SOPs, safety procedures, and effective communication with clients and management. OHS compliance and proper documentation are essential.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift 50 lbs and handle medium to heavy lifting.
• Forklift and pallet jack operation experience preferred.
• Travel for business is required.

Responsibilities

• Comply with OHS Act, BV Group Policy, and ISO standards applicable to the Sample Preparation technician position.
• Operate in a safe, professional manner and wear required PPE.
• Carry out sample preparation procedures using SOPs and work instructions.
• Monitor sample preparation equipment and ensure adequate inventory of consumables and chemicals.
• Maintain good housekeeping and document inspections and fleet usage.
• Liaise with clients during sample pick-ups and ensure proper documentation (Sample Chain of Custody).
• Report deviations, unsafe conditions, and non-conforming work to the Branch Manager.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
