Daimler Truck North America invites motivated interns to join our safety team at NC/SC manufacturing sites. This role focuses on reviewing safety records, identifying improvement opportunities, and learning how DTNA’s safety culture is built through concrete actions and trainings.

Interns participate in site walks, hazard analyses, and training development while collaborating with experienced safety professionals. Travel between NC and SC is expected, and strong communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s program or higher or have recently graduated within 1 year of the position start date (May/June).
• Knowledge of safety & health regulations (OSHA, NFPA, ANSI, etc.).
• Ability to perform hazard assessments.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment.

Responsabilités

• Review safety records and processes to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Identify gaps or outdated practices and align programs with OSHA standards and industry best practices.
• Engage employees in feedback sessions to understand real-world safety challenges.
• Conduct site walkthroughs and JHAs to identify hazards (physical, chemical, ergonomic, psychosocial).
• Use risk matrices to prioritize hazards by severity and likelihood.
• Document findings and implement corrective actions with timelines and accountability.
• Review training content for relevance, accuracy, and engagement.
• Provide refresher courses and track completion in the LMS.
• Shadow safety managers during inspections and investigations.
• Participate in safety huddles and emergency drills.
• Foster an inclusive and welcoming workplace culture.
