Job summary

Hendrick Technical Solutions in Charlotte, NC seeks a hands-on Robotic Weld & Automation Technician to troubleshoot, maintain, and support robotic weld cells and automation equipment in our manufacturing operations. You will collaborate with Production and Engineering to minimize downtime, read schematics, and perform basic robot programming using a teach pendant while following ITAR and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• 2+ years hands-on experience with industrial robots, automation, or robotic welding.
• FANUC experience strongly preferred.
• Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, blueprints, and mechanical drawings.
• Basic robot programming using a teach pendant.
• High school diploma/GED required; technical training in robotics/mechatronics preferred.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair robots and automated equipment, including electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and controls issues.
• Troubleshoot robot faults, I/O, sensors, servos, motors, safety circuits, tooling, and weld equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance on robots, weld cells, EOAT, grippers, fixtures, and production equipment.
• Make basic robot program and position adjustments using a teach pendant.
• Check robot mastering, calibration, tooling, and programmed positions.
• Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and automation improvements.
• Track repairs, maintenance, and recurring equipment issues and help identify permanent solutions.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Production to develop and maintain standard work instructions for robot stations.
• Train robot station personnel on proper equipment operation, troubleshooting, and safety practices.
