Job summary

Eco Emissions is seeking a proactive Trucking Fleet Manager to oversee a regional fleet of under 20 commercial trucks handling Hazardous Materials. You will manage dispatch, compliance, safety programs, and vendor relations from the yard, ensuring continuous regulatory adherence and optimal on-time performance.

You will lead a small driver team, drive data-based decision making using telematics, and drive cost efficiencies while maintaining safety and security standards.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of progressive experience in trucking fleet management, heavy-duty dispatch or transportation logistics.
• Experience managing Hazmat transportation operations and compliance workflows.
• Strong knowledge of DOT, FMCSA, PHMSA requirements and ELD rules.
• Proficiency with fleet software and telematics platforms (e.g., Samsara, Motive, Fleetio).
• Capable of working in a yard environment; able to lift up to 40 lbs occasionally for inspections.

Responsibilities

• Regulatory compliance with DOT, FMCSA and PHMSA rules.
• Permits & documentation: Hazmat registrations, driver endorsements, shipping papers, audits.
• Safety & security: Hazmat security plans, emergency response, spill containment training.
• Hands-on dispatch: lead day-to-day dispatch, route planning, scheduling with a driver team.
• Driver retention: recruit, onboard and coach drivers focusing on safety and retention.
• Asset tracking: oversee registration, insurance, utilization, and lifecycle for trucks/trailers.
• Maintenance: supervise preventative maintenance, manage vendor repairs and DVIR triage.
• Budget & data: track budgets, fuel usage, cost-per-mile, telematics data.
