Job summary

Economy Transportation and Logistics is seeking a safety-oriented Hazmat Class A Regional Driver to support our Hazmat / Chemical Transportation activities on a regional basis. The driver will live within commuting distance of Midland, TX, and operate sleeper-equipped vehicles under DOT regulations.

Applicants must hold a Class A CDL with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements, possess a TWIC card, have 2 years of recent tractor-trailer or chemical tanker experience, and meet DOT physical requirements.

Responsibilities

• Transportation & Logistics: Ensure smooth, on-time delivery processes.
• Secure transportation and delivery of various cargo types, focusing on hazardous materials.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local regulations (DOT, OSHA, industry-specific standards).
• Enforce best practices for handling and transporting specialty chemicals and maintain DOT/safety compliance.
• Lead efforts within operations to maintain safety and compliance.
• Equipment Management: Oversee equipment operation and ensure inspections before, during, and after trips.

Key Responsibilities:

Transportation & Logistics:

• Ensure smooth, on-time delivery processes.
• Secure transportation and delivery of various cargo types, focusing on hazardous materials.

• Oversee equipment operation, ensuring proper inspections before, during, and after trips.
• Ensure operators meet necessary qualifications and safety standards.

Qualifications and Requirements:

License/Endorsements:

• Class A CDL (Commercial Driver's License) with Hazmat & Tanker Endorsements.
• TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) Card.

Experience:

• 2 years of recent experience driving a tractor-trailer, chemical tanker, and or .
• Ability to operate a 10-speed manual transmission.

Age & Health Requirements:

• At least 23 years old.
• Must pass a DOT Physical.

Driving Record:

• No MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) violations in the past 3 years.
• No major accidents
• No DUI/DWI offenses

WORK SCHEDULE:

• 70 HOUR PER WEEK OR AS CLOSE TO THAT AS POSSIBLE WITH A 34 HOUR RESTART
• On call based on load availabilities

Location:

• Vehicles will be Sleeper Equipment. Candidates must live within 25-mile radius of Midland, TX and commute to our yard for pick-up of day Equipment in Midland, TX
