Job summary

Markdom is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Quality Engineer to support automotive manufacturing operations on the production floor. You will ensure processes meet customer, regulatory, and internal quality requirements with a hands‑on approach.

The role requires knowledge of IATF 16949, core automotive tools, and experience in high‑volume manufacturing. You will drive containment, root‑cause analysis, and permanent corrective actions to improve quality and reduce defects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, or a related technical field.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Automotive Tier 1 or Tier 2 manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 quality systems.
• Working knowledge of APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, MSA, and 8D problem solving.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, tolerances, and customer requirements.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate directly with customers and cross‑functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Support daily production quality activities and resolve manufacturing and customer quality concerns.
• Investigate internal and external quality issues using structured problem‑solving and root‑cause analysis.
• Lead and document 8D corrective actions and ensure corrective actions are implemented and sustained.
• Maintain and improve PFMEAs, Control Plans, work instructions, inspection standards, and related quality documentation.
• Support APQP and PPAP activities for new products, engineering changes, and process changes.
• Apply automotive core tools including FMEA, Control Plans, SPC, MSA, APQP, and PPAP.
• Analyze scrap, defects, customer complaints, process capability, and quality trends to identify improvement opportunities.
