Job summary

Arlington Properties is seeking a Maintenance Service Technician to upkeep Retreat at Brightside in Baton Rouge, LA. You will tackle apartment prep, perform general maintenance, and handle work orders with urgency, ensuring safe, clean, and market-ready spaces for residents.

You'll work on plumbing, electrical, painting, HVAC support, and appliance repairs, while maintaining grounds and supporting preventive tasks. Team-focused culture with ongoing training and competitive pay.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–5 years of hands-on maintenance experience (electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, etc.).
• Proficiency in at least one major trade area.
• EPA certification preferred.
• Valid driver’s license, good driving record, and reliable transportation.
• Ability to lift up to 100 lbs, climb ladders, and work outdoors in all conditions.
• Excellent communication and professionalism with residents and team members.
• Available to work flexible schedules, including weekends and on-call shifts.

Responsibilities

• Prep vacant apartments to market-ready condition.
• Handle work orders with skill, urgency, and a smile.
• Perform general maintenance including light plumbing, electrical, painting, HVAC support, and appliance repair.
• Keep grounds and common areas clean and inviting.
• Support preventative maintenance and inspections.
• Pitch in with snow removal, pool upkeep, and seasonal tasks.
• Stay alert and on-call for emergency maintenance needs.
