Job summary

Trueline is seeking a hands-on Property Accountant to join our Stockton, CA team. You will own day-to-day accounting across a large multi-entity real estate portfolio including reconciliations, journal entries, AP/AR, and month-end close.

Ideal candidates have strong GAAP knowledge, 5+ years in property or multi-entity accounting, and proficiency with QuickBooks or similar software. This onsite role includes a base salary of $100k–$120k plus a $10k retention bonus after one year and annual bonus

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience preferred.
• Hands-on general ledger and month-end close experience.
• Experience preparing journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
• Experience preparing or supporting monthly financial statements.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and fundamental accounting principles.
• Comfortable with high-volume transactions across entities.
• Property accounting or multi-entity experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage accounting responsibilities for an assigned portfolio of properties/entities.
• Perform monthly bank, balance sheet, and general ledger reconciliations.
• Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, adjustments, and other month-end entries.
• Support and participate in the monthly close process.
• Review general ledger activity and research and resolve discrepancies.
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activity in a high-volume environment.
• Prepare and review property-level financial statements and supporting schedules.
• Analyze variances and investigate unusual activity.
• Maintain accurate accounting records across multiple entities.
• Collaborate with operations, AP/AR, and leadership to resolve issues.
• Assist with budgeting, reporting, audit support, and other projects.
• Help improve accounting processes and controls as portfolio grows.
