Job summary

Johns Manville in Waterville, Maine, is seeking a Process Engineer who will support key manufacturing assets, optimize production output, material utilization, energy efficiency and product quality.

You will use data analysis, DOE, preventive maintenance, and structured problem-solving to identify opportunities, lead continuous improvement projects, and collaborate with operations, maintenance, quality and engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or a relevant technical field.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in industrial continuous process manufacturing.
• Experience with DOE for process improvement.
• Proven problem-solving and data-analysis skills.
• Ability to lead projects and work across operations teams.
• Strong communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Be a visible presence on the manufacturing floor, working with operators and production teams to understand processes and identify improvement opportunities.
• Analyze process performance data to identify trends, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions.
• Execute and support standard process controls, operating procedures, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Champion a strong safety culture by promoting safe behaviors and supporting safety improvement efforts.
• Participate in RCCA investigations and develop sustainable solutions to prevent recurrence.
• Plan, execute, and analyze DOE activities to improve manufacturing performance.
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance, quality, and technical teams to resolve process challenges.
• Identify and lead process optimization projects that improve efficiency, reliability, quality, and cost performance.
• Support equipment installations, plant construction activities, and startup efforts as needed.
• Share technical learnings and best practices across the organization and participate in broader technical communities.
• Assist in evaluating asset performance and optimizing raw material usage to support operational excellence.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
