Job summary

Sterling Foods is seeking a Safety Coordinator to support our SHE programs and help keep hundreds of team members safe across production plants and warehouses. The role requires hands-on engagement, strong communication, and collaboration with supervisors and team members to promote a culture of care.

Key duties include daily safety walk-throughs, incident response support, and coordinating safety training and orientation sessions.

Qualifications

• Strong commitment to workplace safety and proactive hazard identification.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Comfortable using spreadsheets and standard computer applications.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Report to and support the Safety Manager.
• Respond to safety concerns and assist with issues.
• Assist with incident response and follow-up.
• Conduct daily safety walk-throughs and inspections.
• Coordinate safety training and New Employee Orientation (NEO).
• Submit work orders and safety-related documentation.
• Assist with hazardous waste registration and cleanup tasks.
• Promote GMP compliance and use of PPE.
• Maintain safety boards and training records.
