Summit Polymers seeks an Engineer, Manufacturing (SLMS) to lead the implementation of Summit Lean Manufacturing System across the plant. The role emphasizes hands-on work on the shop floor, driving kaizen activities and process improvements while mentoring staff from operators to management.

The candidate should possess strong analysis capabilities, project management experience, and the ability to make informed decisions.

Qualifications

• Engineering or related degree or 3 years experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong analytical skills for data gathering and decision making.
• Effective communication and coaching across plant levels.

Responsibilities

• Lead SLMS implementation across all areas of the facility.
• Conduct SLMS audits and drive kaizen activities.
• Analyze methods for process improvement, balance, and cost reduction.
• Teach SLMS concepts in classroom and shop floor settings to all plant staff.
• Manage projects with independent decision-making on the shop floor.
• Develop and maintain plant floor layouts.
• Occasional travel to other SPI plants.
• Other duties as assigned by General Manager.
