Job summary

CVS Health in the United States is offering a 3rd year Pharmacy Intern program, integrating didactic learning with real-world practice under a preceptor. You will gain hands-on experience within the pharmacy team and exposure to store, district, and regional operations.

Under supervision, you will follow a comprehensive training roadmap, support prescription fulfillment, counsel patients, and learn to deliver immunizations and other services where permitted.

Qualifications

• Accepted into, or actively enrolled in, an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
• Must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern and/or technician licensure as required.

Responsibilities

• Complete a comprehensive training roadmap focusing on KLEs that build aptitude in pharmacy operations.
• Assist the pharmacy team to ensure prescriptions are filled safely and promptly.
• Follow SOPs, provide empathetic patient service, and communicate effectively with patients and colleagues.
• Counsel patients when appropriate under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
• Take telephonic prescriptions and clarify with the prescriber when allowed by state regulations.
• Maintain inventory activities and assist with cycle counts and related tasks.
• Travel to stores in the market to support shifts as needed by the business.
• Comply with federal, state, local laws and CVS policies to ensure patient safety and privacy.
• Support immunizations and other patient health services where permitted and trained.
