Martin Marietta is seeking a Paving Lead Person to join our field operations in Colorado. This hands-on supervisory role bridges management and crew, supervising paving work and ensuring safety, quality, and on-time completion while mastering heavy paving equipment.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED and 4+ years in asphalt paving or building materials, plus supervisory experience. OSHA and DOT knowledge, strong communication, and organization are essential.

• OSHA and DOT knowledge
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to operate paving equipment

Responsibilities

• Communicate standards of excellence in daily work assignments to meet production goals.
• Provide input on employee performance evaluations and recommend disciplinary actions or commendations.
• Aid in training and cross-training of co-workers to ensure a versatile crew.
• Function as a liaison between the crew and the Foreman or Plant Manager.
• Operate paving equipment autonomously (pavers, rollers, skid steers, backhoes).
• Inspect all mobile equipment for safety hazards and functionality.
• Coordinate with maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Assist in manual tasks (raking, shoveling, sweeping).
• Implement safety rules per OSHA and company policies.
• Complete daily production, safety and maintenance reports.
• Monitor asphalt laydown for quality per standards.
• Adjust equipment programming and crew workflows to maximize daily production.
