Job summary

ProAmpac is seeking an Assistant Operator for the paper bag line at our Cincinnati facility. This role supports setup, operation, quality checks, and packaging, contributing to safe, efficient production.

You will monitor equipment, perform routine maintenance, use hand tools and a forklift for material handling, and collaborate with the team to meet daily targets while following GMP and safety protocols.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Working knowledge of machine operation principles.
• General knowledge of production processes and quality control procedures.
• Ability to read and understand English language instructions and safety guidelines.
• Basic mathematics skills for calculations related to production and measurements.
• Mechanical aptitude and the ability to use hand tools.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Experience with packaging and labeling procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the setup and operation of paper bag machines, ensuring optimal performance.
• Monitor the production line, identifying and addressing any operational issues.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshooting, utilizing hand tools as needed.
• Conduct quality control checks throughout the production process, ensuring adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices.
• Assist with packaging and labeling of finished products, maintaining accurate records.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, practicing proper housekeeping procedures.
• Collaborate with the team to meet production goals and deadlines, demonstrating effective teamwork.
• Utilize forklift truck for material handling and warehousing tasks, as required.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues regarding production status and any issues.
• Follow all safety protocols and procedures related to machine operation and material handling.
