Job summary

Coherent Corp. is seeking a technically skilled technician to work on free-space optical components and related assemblies. You will operate laser beam analyzers, power meters and oscilloscopes, while pursuing root causes and continuous improvement, under minimal supervision.

The role requires hands-on mechanical and electrical assembly experience, with strong troubleshooting, time management and cross-functional collaboration. ISO/quality responsibility may apply depending on location.

Qualifications

• Technical Associates degree or certificate in Laser E/O or related field, 0–1+ years related experience.
• Mechanical and electrical assembly experience required.
• Ability to read schematics, drawings and engineering plans.

Responsibilities

• Operate laser beam analyzers and optical test equipment with minimal supervision.
• Perform semi-routine assignments and identify deviations from standard practice.
• Troubleshoot issues with sound judgment and provide recommendations.
• Support Lean initiatives (3S weekly & 6S monthly).
• Maintain safe work environment and follow EHS procedures.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve problems.
