Job summary

Coherent Corp. is seeking an experienced electronics technician to install, test, diagnose, repair, and maintain control panels, sensors, PLCs and other components according to blueprints and schematics.

The role requires reading electrical drawings and performing functional testing on control systems. You will perform maintenance, calibrate instruments, document repairs, and contribute to root-cause analyses while supporting engineers and operators to resolve equipment issues.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or certificate in Electronics Technology, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 15+ years of experience in electronics assembly or testing in a manufacturing or lab environment.

Responsibilities

• Install control panels, sensors, PLCs and other electronic components per blueprints and schematics.
• Diagnose system failures to component/circuit level using multimeters and test equipment.
• Repair, rework, or replace faulty components.
• Conduct functional and acceptance testing on control systems and electrical assemblies per quality specifications.
• Perform scheduled maintenance on electronics/control systems (24V – 480V range).
• Calibrate instruments and equipment to uphold performance.
• Contribute root-cause analyses for repeat failures and process improvements.
• Support engineers and operators to resolve equipment issues and improve processes.
• Prepare documentation, maintain repair logs, maintenance records, and test results.
• Ensure a safe work environment and cultivate safe behaviors.
• Assist with lab and equipment maintenance and organization.
