Job summary

Coherent Corp. in Fremont, CA is seeking a hands-on Tester Technician to develop, assemble, and qualify testers for laser and photodiode characterization in a high-volume manufacturing setting.

You will collect data, prepare documentation, support SPC and calibrations, and work closely with test engineers and operators. On-site role with possible weekend or night shifts; strong electronics, optics, and communication skills preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience.
• Basic electronics, optics, and semiconductor laser testing knowledge.
• Industrial experience in high-volume manufacturing is highly desired.
• Hands-on MS Office, including Word and Excel.
• Strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with test engineers to develop, assemble, and qualify testers for laser and photodiode characterization.
• Assist in tester instrumentation qualification and data collection.
• Maintain testers, calibrate routines, and create product recipes.
• Prepare tester documentation and interact with operators and other engineers.
• Support daily SPC and calibration tasks.
• May require weekend or night shifts.
