Job summary

Tenneco in Seward, NE seeks an Operations Lead to support production by performing standard manufacturing tasks while serving as the first point of contact for line issues, staffing needs, training, and continuous improvement activities.

The role is ~95% hands-on with operators and welders and ~5% leadership, including changeovers, troubleshooting, first-piece acceptance, and safety/5S maintenance.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 1 year of manufacturing experience required.
• 1+ year lead role in manufacturing or similar production environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform standard work tasks of machine operators and/or welders in assigned area.
• Promote and ensure adherence to all safety policies and LOTO compliance.
• Serve as the first point of contact for safety concerns and incidents.
• Communicate staffing needs and workflow concerns to the Production Supervisor.
• Respond to line problems, document issues, and escalate as needed.
• Facilitate teamwork and coordinate training within the cell.
• Ensure production follows standardized work and supports changeovers.
• Maintain 5S standards and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
• Provide daily operational updates to the Production Supervisor.
