Job summary

Nerd Up Staffing seeks mid to senior engineers for a hands-on systems engineering role on the U.S. Navy AEGIS Weapon System Integration, Testing, and Systems Engineering program.

You’ll trace requirements, debug C++ issues, and document anomalies as part of the customer’s team on-site in Mount Laurel, NJ. The role emphasizes DOORS traceability, V&V, and clear technical writing, with opportunities for growth within a veteran-owned, long-tenured team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering or science discipline.
• Hands-on experience with Rational DOORS or DOORS Next Generation.
• Hands-on C++, enough to read code and troubleshoot defects.
• Hands-on verification and validation on complex engineering systems.
• Strong technical writing and verbal communication.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Break down Navy requirements and manage them in DOORS with full traceability.
• Read and debug C++ to investigate problem reports and find root cause.
• Plan and carry out verification and validation.
• Work problem reports through evaluation and closure.
• Contribute to test plans and carry out integration and test.
• Present technical findings clearly in writing and in person.
