Job summary

Smiths Tubular Systems - Laconia seeks a General Manager of Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul (MRO) to lead the operation, drive growth, and ensure safety and quality. This hands-on leader will address bottlenecks, mentor a largely inexperienced team, and steer cross-functional collaboration with HR, engineering, and quality.

You will own P&L for the MRO, oversee regulatory compliance (FAA/EASA), and champion Lean improvement to balance demand with labor and tooling.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of progressive leadership in MRO, aviation, manufacturing, or regulated environment.
FAA Repairman Certificate (preferred, not required).
Experience leading growth with hands-on execution and coaching of teams.

Responsibilities

Own full P&L responsibility for the MRO operation, driving safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance.
Lead daily operations to ensure on-time delivery and regulatory compliance.
Act as a working manager to troubleshoot issues and cover staffing gaps.
Identify, prioritize, and resolve production constraints in a high-growth environment.
Uphold leadership values and ensure punctual attendance.
Lead, coach, and develop a largely inexperienced workforce.
