Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Summer 2027 MEP Engineering Intern to join our Property and Buildings Team, working from multiple offices including Kansas City, MO; Chicago, IL; Saint Louis, MO; and Minneapolis, MN. This 12-week internship targets students enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program, with a start around May 17, 2027.

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in an accredited Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Plumbing Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or related Undergraduate program with an anticipated graduation date of August 2027 or later.
• Must be 18 or older.
• Demonstrated interest in MEP or related field and desire to advance skills related to WSP's projects.
• Competent interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with engineering and non-engineering audiences.
• Capable of taking direction from leadership, mentors, and managers to execute projects.
• Basic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, spreadsheets, technology, and tools.
• Authorized to work in the United States at internship start.
• Please note there is no relocation or housing assistance.

Responsibilities

• Support a variety of engineering tasks to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.
• Learn basic principles of Mechanical, Electrical, or Plumbing Engineering with a mentor.
• Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations.
• Support preparation of final design plans, provisions, and cost estimates.
• Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation.
• Complete training on assigned tasks.
• Adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and safety policies.
• Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
