Job summary

Aptyx in Torrington, CT is seeking a Mechanical Manufacturing Engineer to lead New Product Introduction, process development, and ongoing production support for a growing medical device manufacturing environment.

The role will design and implement manufacturing processes, equipment, tooling, and fixtures, collaborate with cross‑functional teams, and solve production problems on the floor to ensure safety, quality and cost targets are met.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• 3+ years of experience in mechanical or manufacturing engineering.
• Experience with NPI through production launch desirable.
• Experience in automation, injection molding or plastics manufacturing is preferred.
• Medical device or regulated manufacturing experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead New Product Introduction and product launches from development through production.
• Develop and implement manufacturing processes, equipment, tooling, fixtures, and production methods.
• Troubleshoot on the manufacturing floor to resolve issues related to equipment, tooling, fixtures, and processes.
• Collaborate with Program Management, Product Development, Quality, and Operations to ensure successful launches.
• Support documentation, work instructions, and engineering specifications.
• Ensure production processes and equipment are ready for ramp‑up and ongoing production.
• Support validation activities and compliance with ISO 13485, FDA, and GMP.
• Drive continuous improvement in throughput, quality, and cost.
