Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 in Hamilton, NJ. This full-time internship is part of the Summer Internship Program, offering hands-on exposure to real projects alongside senior staff.

As a participant, you will complete a 12-week program starting May 17, 2027, with opportunities to develop technical, communication, and professional skills while contributing to ongoing mechanical engineering tasks in our Property & Buildings team.

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in undergraduate Mechanical Engineering or related field, with graduation Aug 2027 or later.
• Must be 18+ and authorized to work in the United States.
• Interest in Mechanical Engineering and desire to develop skills on WSP projects.
• Strong interpersonal and professional communication across engineering and non-engineering audiences.
• Able to take direction from mentors and leaders to execute projects.
• Proficient with basic technical writing, office software, and spreadsheets.
• Committed to workplace safety and WSP policies.

Responsibilities

• Support a variety of engineering tasks to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.
• Learn basic principles of Mechanical Engineering.
• Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations and analysis.
• Support preparation of final design plans, special provisions, and cost estimates.
• Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation.
• Complete training on assigned tasks.
• Adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and policies.
• No relocation or housing assistance for this internship.
