Job summary

MacLean Power Systems in Stockton, California is seeking an Associate Mechanical Engineer to join our hands-on engineering team. You will design, test, and refine mechanical components for high-voltage switchgear and utility equipment, collaborating with fabrication, machining, welding, and assembly teams on the production floor.

The role offers exposure to product development from concept through prototype, testing, and final release, with opportunities to contribute to continuous improvement

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field, or expected graduation soon.
• Experience with SolidWorks and AutoCAD is preferred, not required.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Create and revise 3D models and manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
• Produce detailed drawings, assemblies, and BOMs.
• Develop drawing details, dimensions, tolerances, and manufacturing requirements.
• Design, build, and evaluate mechanical prototypes.
• Perform product testing and document procedures and results.
• Collaborate with fabrication, machining, welding, and assembly teams to ensure manufacturability.
• Support prototype builds and resolve fit, function, and manufacturing issues.
• Process ECOs/ECRs and maintain engineering documentation.
• Assist with troubleshooting manufacturing and product-performance issues.
• Participate in design reviews and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
