Job summary

Leviton is seeking an Associate Engineer, Mechanical to design, prototype, and test mechanical components in a collaborative engineering environment. You will apply mechanical design principles and manufacturing techniques to support project objectives and deliver high quality solutions under close supervision.

This role involves CAD work, prototypes, documentation packages, and testing plans to validate designs and ensure product quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Internship or co-op experience preferred.
• Experience reading electrical and mechanical drawings.
• Experience in 3D CAD and drafting; SolidWorks preferred.
• Knowledge of FEA/FMEA and regulatory testing methods.
• Familiarity with drafting terminology and symbols.
• Basic familiarity with PCB and electronics packaging.

Responsibilities

• Complete the product design, analysis and development of mechanical components, systems and equipment, including assembly drawings and documentation from design to manufacturing release.
• Use a CAD system to generate designs and documentation; may use CAE software to design and evaluate mechanical designs.
• Create functional prototype samples to validate designs.
• Prepare document packages with drawings, Bills of Materials, and Engineering Change Orders.
• Implement documentation updates and changes to existing products.
• Design testing methods to ensure product and system quality; execute testing plans.
