Job summary

Novelis is seeking a Mechanical Engineer intern to join our Oswego site for an on-site summer program. You will gain hands-on experience in mechanical engineering, supporting reliability projects, and developing CAD drawings under supervision.

The role emphasizes teamwork, learning industrial machinery, and applying maintenance standards while you contribute to real projects during a 10–12 week period. This is a paid internship with a focus on hands-on experience.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an accredited 4-year University
• Must obtain the classification Junior or Senior.
• Interested in gaining hands-on industry experience prior to graduation
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills which are essential for interacting with all levels of the organization
• Familiar with MS Office and AutoCAD products.
• Must be currently authorized to work in the United States for any employer

Responsibilities

• Learn about industrial machinery, mechanical power transmission, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems.
• Provide support for various Mechanical or Reliability Engineering Projects.
• Develop and modify engineering drawings and models using CAD software.
• Participate in problem solving activities including breakdown repairs and root cause analysis. Work under the supervision of staff engineers to implement latest reliability and maintenance standards to equipment.
