Job summary

Pave America is seeking a dependable Mechanic Assistant to support our maintenance team with servicing, repairing, and maintaining vehicles and equipment. You should be comfortable around a tool set and understand basic vehicle systems, with a willingness to learn under experienced technicians.

Ideal candidates are hardworking, safety-minded, and prepared to turn basic mechanical aptitude into a long-term trade. Must be 18+, able to lift 50–75 lbs, and have a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in automotive or equipment maintenance is a plus.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Basic knowledge of mechanical tools and equipment
• Willingness to learn and take direction
• Strong work ethic and dependable attendance
• Ability to lift 50–75 lbs and work in a physically demanding environment
• Valid driver’s license required
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Ability to work long hours, including weekends and evenings, as needed

Responsibilities

• Assist mechanics with inspections, maintenance, and repairs on company vehicles and equipment
• Perform basic tasks such as oil changes, lubrication, tire repairs, and fluid checks
• Clean and organize the shop, work areas, and tools
• Prepare parts, materials, and tools needed for repairs
• Help with equipment moves and deliveries as needed
• Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used
• Operate hand tools and power tools under supervision
• Assist with inventory counts and ordering supplies
• Follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the shop team
• Must have their own set of tools
