Job summary

Strand Products in Ventura, California is seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineer to own, improve, validate, and sustain high‑precision wire and cable assemblies for medical, aerospace, and defense markets. This hands-on role sits on the production floor and collaborates with Engineering, Quality, Production, Maintenance, and Supply Chain to convert opportunities into stable, repeatable processes.

Qualifications

• BS/MS Degree in Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of engineering experience in regulated manufacturing.
• Experience owning and improving production processes.
• Experience transitioning products from NPI to sustaining production.
• Experience automation, equipment, tooling, or process-control improvements.
• Knowledge of IQ/OQ/PQ, PFMEA, Control Plans, capability analysis, GR&R, DOE, root-cause analysis.
• Analytical and computer skills including Minitab, SolidWorks, 3D printing, MRP/ERP, MS Office.
• Experience ISO 9001, AS9100, ISO 13485.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Attention to detail and continuous improvement mindset.
• Collaborative and accountable work style.

Responsibilities

• Own assigned manufacturing processes from release through sustaining production.
• Develop, validate, standardize, document, and improve methods and process controls.
• Analyze production data and KPIs to identify constraints, recurring defects, and cost opportunities.
• Lead improvements to increase throughput, yield, first-pass quality, OEE, capacity, and labor efficiency.
• Perform time studies, capacity analysis, line balancing, workflow analysis, and optimization.
• Use structured problem-solving and statistical methods to make data-based decisions.
• Design tooling, fixtures, and production methods to improve repeatability, ergonomics, safety, quality, and cycle time.
• Lead Lean, Kaizen, waste-reduction, standard-work and other CI initiatives.
• Establish and monitor process metrics and verify sustained results.
• Identify and implement cost-reduction opportunities through optimization and automation.
• NPI-to-sustaining transfer ownership and ensuring production-readiness.
