Job summary

J&M Products, Inc. seeks a subject matter expert in aerospace wire harness assemblies to develop and improve manufacturing processes.

You will collaborate with design engineering, production, quality, supply chain and inspection teams to ensure harnesses meet aerospace, customer and regulatory requirements. The role involves translating engineering drawings into practical processes, maintaining routings and instructions, and supporting NPI, first articles and production launches.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 3–5 years of manufacturing engineering experience involving wire harnesses or electrical assemblies.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, work instructions, and BOMs.
  • Knowledge of IPC/WHMA-A-620, J-STD-001 and applicable customer specifications.
  • Understanding of AS9100, configuration control, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems and production tracking.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, document, and continuously improve manufacturing processes for aerospace wire harnesses and assemblies.
  • Translate drawings, schematics, specifications, and customer requirements into practical processes.
  • Maintain process routings, work instructions, and standard work documentation.
  • Design and develop tooling, fixtures, and assembly aids.
  • Support NPI, manufacturing readiness, prototypes, first articles, and production launches.
  • Provide hands-on technical support and troubleshoot assembly, crimping, soldering, routing, and testing issues.
  • Establish and optimize processes for cutting, stripping, crimping, soldering, termination, and routing.
  • Assist with estimating and quoting activities.
  • Conduct process capability studies, time studies, and line balancing.
  • Identify opportunities to improve yield, cycle time, and manufacturing cost.
  • Investigate defects and support root-cause analysis and CAPA.
  • Evaluate production equipment, tooling, materials and technologies.
  • Participate in PFMEA, control plans, risk assessments and production readiness.
