Job summary

Actalent is hiring a Manufacturing Process Engineer to support production operations on the shop floor in Dallas. The role focuses on designing tools, fixtures, and processes to optimize manufacturing flow, reduce waste, and improve product quality.

The engineer will work closely with production and maintenance teams, apply 3D CAD (AutoCAD, Inventor, SolidWorks, NX), and contribute to NPI and documentation efforts. Onsite in Dallas with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience as a manufacturing or mechanical engineer.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD design and drafting using AutoCAD, Inventor, SolidWorks, NX, or similar software.
• Experience in manufacturing engineering and shop floor activities.
• Understanding of machining, assembly, sheet metal, and composite manufacturing.
• Ability to design and optimize fixtures and jigs for manufacturing applications.
• Knowledge of CNC machines and CNC programming in a production setting.
• Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement tools.
• Understanding of GD&T, DFM, and DFA.
• Ability to create and maintain detailed process documentation, work instructions, and SOPs.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities; good communication.
• Team-oriented and able to work with production, maintenance, and engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and optimize production flow, tools, jigs, and fixtures using 3D CAD software.
• Develop and maintain engineering drawings, BOMs, and assembly instructions.
• Collaborate with production and maintenance to prototype, test, and implement tooling and process solutions.
• Identify, plan, and execute process improvement projects to increase throughput and reduce waste.
• Provide hands-on technical support to production teams by troubleshooting issues.
