Qualifications include pursuing a bachelor’s in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering, proficiency with Excel and AutoCAD, and prior Siemens EA internship experience.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field and nearing completion.
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel and AutoCAD.
  • Prior internship experience with Siemens Electrification & Automation (EA).
  • Able to work full-time (40 hours/week) for 12-week summer internship.
  • Located within 50 miles of Wendell, NC; no relocation support.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Support new machine implementation projects in the prefabrication department.
  • Conduct time studies and capacity studies for manufacturing operations.
  • Analyze workflow and logistics processes to identify improvements.
  • Collect and analyze manufacturing data related to copper, sheet metal, and wire harness fabrication.
  • Apply engineering and manufacturing principles to support fabrication processes and operational performance.

As an intern with the Electrification and Automation (EA) division of Siemens Smart Infrastructure , you’ll gain hands‑on experience supporting power distribution systems that keep the world running today, while also being exposed to our Future Grids technologies that are shaping the power systems of tomorrow – all within a collaborative, impact‑driven environment.

We are seeking qualified candidates to join our Manufacturing Engineering Internship beginning in May or June 2027. This position will be based at our Wendell, North Carolina office location.

You’llmake an impact by :
  • Supporting new machine implementation projects within the prefabrication department.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field and approaching completion of the required educational credentials for this opportunity.
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel and AutoCAD.
  • Prior experience as an intern with Siemens Electrification & Automation (EA).
  • Ability to work full‑time (40 hours per week) for the duration of the 12‑week summer internship.
  • Eligible candidates must be located within 50 miles of Wendell, NC, as this role does not provide relocation support.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.
  • This internship is a structured experiential learning program for individuals currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program who will continue their studies following the assignment. Current and continuing enrollment is a condition of participation. Applicants who have completed or expect to complete their educational program before or during the assignment period are encouraged to explore our Early Career Development Program opportunities.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience conducting time studies, workflow analysis, logistics analysis, or capacity studies.
  • Knowledge of engineering and manufacturing principles and concepts in fabrication.
  • Experience analyzing manufacturing data related to copper, sheet metal, or wire harness parts.
