Job summary

Rempac Foam, LLC is seeking a hands-on Cost Accountant to support manufacturing operations by delivering accurate costing, inventory valuation, and variance analysis. The role partners with plant leadership, production, engineering, and purchasing to translate production activity into meaningful financial information.

The ideal candidate will own product costing, BOM integrity, and cost reporting while identifying improvements to costing processes and driving manufacturing performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• 2+ years of cost accounting experience in manufacturing.
• Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP/Oracle/MS Dynamics) and advanced Excel.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and cross-department collaboration.
• Knowledge of GAAP; CPA/CMA certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and monitor manufacturing costs (raw materials, labor, overhead) to ensure accurate cost allocation.
• Prepare, review, and reconcile cost reports and inventory valuations on a regular basis.
• Develop and implement cost accounting systems and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy.
• Conduct variance analysis between actual costs and standard costs; investigate and explain variances.
• Collaborate with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to support cost control initiatives.
• Assist with annual budgeting, forecasting, and periodic financial close processes.
• Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and explanations related to cost accounting.
• Recommend cost-saving measures and process improvements based on data analysis.
• Maintain and update bills of materials (BOM) and standard costs within the ERP system.
• Support and validate product costing methodologies to ensure costs accurately reflect production inputs and processes.
