Job summary

LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a Cost Accountant in Brunswick, GA to join a growing manufacturing organization’s finance team and support a high-volume production environment.

You will analyze labor, material, and production costs, investigate variances with operations, and maintain cost records to drive standard costing and financial reporting. The role emphasizes hands-on collaboration with plant personnel to improve cost performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related discipline required.
• 1+ years of General Ledger accounting experience.
• Strong accounting foundation beyond AP/AR.
• Manufacturing or cost accounting experience strongly preferred.
• Standard Cost experience desirable and may qualify for higher compensation.
• Strong Excel skills including VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP and PivotTables.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Comfortable working with manufacturing and operations teams.
• Outgoing, confident personality to communicate with plant personnel.

Responsibilities

• Analyze labor, material, production, and other cost variances.
• Support plant costing and provide financial analysis to manufacturing leadership.
• Partner with production and operations teams to understand cost drivers and variances.
• Perform detailed SKU-level costing in a complex manufacturing environment.
• Review production activity and changing labor/material inputs to identify trends and opportunities.
• Support general ledger accounting and financial reporting activities.
• Assist with standard costing and cost accounting processes.
• Challenge assumptions and work with plant teams to identify root causes and solutions.
• Provide financial support for ongoing production and operational initiatives.
• Possibly support finance activities for an additional facility as role develops.
• Maintain accurate financial records and contribute to process improvements.
