Job summary
Unitex Healthcare Laundry Services in Linden, NJ is seeking an Assistant Maintenance Manager on 2nd shift to lead a team of industrial mechanics and porters. This hands-on role oversees maintenance operations, preventive programs, and safety while reporting to the Maintenance Manager.
Ideal candidates bring 5+ years repairing industrial equipment, 2+ years supervisory experience, and strong knowledge of electrical/pneumatic/steam systems. Salary ranges from $95,000 to $100,000 plus benefits.
Qualifications
- MUST have experience with 480 volts - high voltage.
- Minimum 5 years' experience repairing industrial equipment.
- Minimum 2 years' supervisory experience.
- Knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, steam systems, and building maintenance.
- Ability to use basic hand tools safely.
- Licensing needed to operate plant machines (e.g., boiler license).
Responsibilities
- Oversee 3-6 mechanics and 5 porters in a busy plant.
- Maintain preventive maintenance programs.
- Assist diagnostics and troubleshooting for equipment.
- Monitor quality of repairs and safety compliance.
