SOCOTEC is seeking a hands-on Laboratory Technician to join our Construction Materials Testing Lab in Farmingdale, NY. You’ll work with concrete, soil, asphalt, and masonry samples, mixing, molding, and testing per ASTM standards.

This role emphasizes practical field and lab work, with responsibility for recording results, maintaining equipment, and supporting the supervisor on various tasks. Training provided for certifications.

Qualifikationen

• High school diploma or higher.
• 2 years of lab experience or relevant certifications/degree.
• Technical/engineering background with ability to obtain ACI Lab Concrete Testing Certification within 6 months.
• Strong math skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• ACI Lab Concrete Testing Certification.
• OSHA 10.

Aufgaben

• Mix, mold, cure, and break samples of concrete, soil, asphalt, masonry, and other construction materials, running standardized laboratory tests per ASTM and other applicable methods.
• Record and report test results accurately, meeting ASTM and other standardized reporting requirements.
• Keep lab equipment clean, calibrated, and in top working order through routine maintenance and verification checks.
• Pitch in on other duties as assigned by your supervisor or manager.
