Job summary

SOCOTEC, Inc. in Farmingdale, NY seeks an entry-level Junior Field Technician to perform construction materials testing on job sites, including concrete, soil and asphalt. Youll work outdoors with hands-on testing and report results following established standards.

You'll gain practical experience, receive full training, and have the opportunity to pursue ACI certification within 6 months. The role requires lifting up to 50 pounds and willingness to travel between sites in varying weather

Qualifications

Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and work outdoors on active job sites in varying weather conditions.
Comfort moving between different job sites as testing schedules require.
Technical knowledge/understanding and a desire to learn technical skills — full training will be provided.
Willingness to obtain ACI Field Grade 1 Certification within 6 months of hiring.
Strong mathematic skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

Perform a variety of standardized field tests on concrete, soil, asphalt, and other construction materials at active job sites, using established testing methods.
Report test results accurately, meeting ASTM and other standardized reporting requirements.
Perform maintenance and verifications of testing equipment to ensure accuracy in the field.
Assist in the construction materials testing lab when needed.
Perform all other duties as assigned by your supervisor or manager.
